It was amazing to see so many of our teachers participate in the Level 1 Google Bootcamp that was offered on June 17th. Teachers became familiar with Google Apps for Education (GAFE) and with using our new MacBooks. Many people have already taken and passed the test for Level 1 certification. It is wonderful that we have our own onsite Google experts! If you are looking to find more information on all things Google check out the blogs by Alice Keeler or Kasey Bell.

Before taking the test you will need to accept the terms of the non-disclosure agreement, so this isn't the place to find answers for the exam!

However, I do have some tips if you haven't taken the exam.

1. You have 3 hours to complete the exam. It will probably take close to that long so plan accordingly!

2. You must remain in front of the camera on your computer for security reasons.

3. Take advantage of the Google online training found here before taking the exam.

4. You will need to retake the exam after 2 years to keep your certification.

Over the last few weeks many people have asked about the differences between Google Classroom and a Learning Management System (LMS). Google Classroom is an awesome tool that can be used to communicate with students and organize and collect work. A LMS will allow you to create content within the system and also has a grade book. That being said, Google Classroom is rather new and is continuously updating their products. Dodie Ainslie, a Google Certified Trainer, has a great presentation that helps explain what each has to offer. Check it out here!
